What's the worse advice you've ever been given and actually followed?

I normally don't take advice from other people, especially if it's bad advice.





However, the worst advice I've ever been given is ';If everything were easy, we'd all do the easy things'; from my high school economics teacher. It's so blatantly obvious it's useless. If everything were hard, we'd all do the hard things. If everything were a fish, we'd all be fish.





Sorry, I know that's not the answer you wanted, but I don't really take bad advice from other people.
