are there any theories that prove AGAINST solipsism? is solipsism a real possibility or is it just a hypothetical theory that isnt realy accepted?I am having bad anxiety over this and need some advice....?
There's no way to prove any of the philosophies or religions right or wrong. Especially the life after death stuff. But think about it , if nothing really exists outside your mind, you can create an illusion to your liking... You can be a millionaire, a movie star etc. Anything you want! And you can just imagine that you'll be able to pay all your bills and the money will come. It has to, because it's all an illusion and nothing is real... I wouldn't get anxieties over this, I would play and have fun when everything is possible, not limited!I am having bad anxiety over this and need some advice....?
Dear kev k, you seek help, yet I cannot. I can explain and teach you some things, but could I be an imagination just as well?
I suffer from it too, so me writing to you could just be fake, but I do what my heart says, not my head. I have ways of coping with it!

if you think about this one using your brain, then you will go round and round in a whirl-wind and just end up with a head ache and no answers!!!
but if you think about life with your heart, then you will soon realise that there are more important things than existential questions that can't be answered by our small and limited minds in this small and limited universe: important things such as the love of our friends and family.
if you decide to really seek the answer to your question, then may i suggest that you take up Buddhism and experience the answer for yourself... but i warn u that it will be a very long journey (but a worthwhile one, i'm sure)
have fun on your journey of discovery!
I don't know how old you are, but as I got older, I gradually realized the limitations of my own imagination, and I gradually realized how strange the world can be. Truth is stranger than fiction, or imagination. So much stranger, that it is not possible that it is all imagined.
If is would be true then your own mind would had developed the idea of solipsism and your own mind would had written you this answer.
But here I sit in front of my computer, sipping on a cup of coffee, in the back hearing the soothing noise of a little water feature, and in a few minutes I wake up my kid and then prepare him breaky.
So then I am your mind, if this would be true.
i think i know you
Don't worry about it very few people really believe it. No significant philosopher has advocated it. Instead some philosophers try to argue that other people's arguments lead to solipsism and must therefore be wrong
I鈥檒l give you a simple answer
If you ignore the train and step in front of it you鈥檒l be crashed .
however their are a lot of levels of understanding and knowledge and some you get them some that you that don't .
don't confuse the the dimensions that is an illusion.
until then learn, study and observe the nature of thinks.
sure the wind you feel. the Pain that you feel. The way others can hurt you is all the proof you need. Its not all in your mind you are not the only mind and this is not a creation of that mind. The thief can shoot your loved ones, the disaster can dash your home. All of this is not a fabrication of ones own mind its all quite real.
Here is a link from wikipedia comparing solipsism to other religions

I personally do not believe in the philosophy of Solipsism i think a lot of things that are in the unknown have not yet been discovered by the human mind. it is more environmental in how the mind works and how it exists . the mind has to learn to cope in its environment learn to be able to solve problems pragmatically and rationally. the anxiety of it all is to relax and do not take it literally that things don't exist and yet they do. we live in a big wide world and we all have to have an open ones mind to other possibilities and we have to embrace it. life is no illusion all you have to do is pinch yourself if it hurts its real
